The Languages
Why Amharic and English?
Amharic is spoken by over 57 million people — the second most spoken Semitic language in the world after Arabic. Its script, Ge'ez (Fidel), is one of the oldest writing systems still in daily use, with a history spanning more than three thousand years. For Ethiopian diaspora communities, the language carries culture, memory, and identity.
English, meanwhile, opens professional and global doors. Jember lets Amharic speakers build real English vocabulary through games they already love — without leaving their culture at the door. The two languages together create a learning environment that feels native to both communities.
